They are known for their special talent of communicating across long distances which come in handy in t heir moogle mail service, Mognet.

In Final Fantasy XIV, Moogles are a rare race that reside in Hydaelyn. They assist and support the five “Spoken” races providing communication with the elementals and speak “Mooglespeak”. Moogles are said to have originated in the Churning Mists during the early days of Hydaelyn. Good King Moggle Mog XII have said in his legends that these creatures have served the Twelve up until a tragic war forced the moogle king to lead his subjects to the territory of mortals and go into hiding to be able to live the rest of their days in peace. However, Good King Moggle Mog XII was forced to stay behind with his kin who stayed in what would become Moghome. As a result, the remaining moogles found refuge in the land of Twelveswood in Gridania.
