Final Fantasy XI‘s story is finally coming to an end, and to celebrate Square Enix is hosting a special event in Final Fantasy XIV.

The event, titled “A Journey to Remember,” sees Iroha, the main heroine in Final Fantasy XI’s Rhapsodies of Vana’diel scenario, visit Eorzea.

“Iroha has descended from the future where the world has been consumed, and she is on a mission to save Vana’diel from its current path to destruction – naturally, with the help of adventurers,” Square Enix writes. “Why and how does Iroha appear in Eorzea?”

Players who complete the event will be rewarded with the “Amatsu” equipment, which is fashioned after Iroha’s armor.

Yesterday, Square Enix released patch 3.1 for Final Fantasy XIV, which adds new story quests, two new dungeons, the 24-player Void Arc raid, Exploratory Missions, the Lord of Verminion Gold Saucer game, and much more.
