With the new patch 2.51, the Manderville Gold Saucer is online. It gives every player a new choice to play FFXIV, except dungeons and crafting. The Manderville Gold Saucer is originally from Final Fantasy VII, it is an arcade mode. The Manderville Gold Saucer is a game center with various mini-games such as Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing. Players will be able to earn tokens called Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP) by participating in Triple Triad, Chocobo Racing and other mini-games. These tokens cannot be traded or sold with FFXIV GIL but they can be exchanged for Gold Saucer specific rewards.

Unlock
Complete the quest “It Could Happen to You”.
Location: Ul’dah-Steps of Nald (X:9 Y:9).
NPC: Well-Heeled Youth
Players must first complete one of the following main scenario quests: “The Gridanian Envoy”, “The Ul’dahn Envoy”, or “The Lominsan Envoy”.

Triple Triad
Triple Triad is a card battle mini-game from FFVIII. Players can battle NPCs to obtain new cards and Manderville Gold Saucer Points. Players can also battle each other for bragging rights. Cards can be dropped in dungeons.

Chocobo Racing
Chocobo Racing is a mini-game where the players act as breeders, trainers and jockeys of their chocobos. Players can enter their well-bred and carefully trained chocobos into races to increase their ranks and win Manderville Gold Saucer Points.

Chocobos can get exp points and ranks from racing, they can learn new abilities and acquire more attribute points by ranking up.

After a while, you’ll get to retire your chocobo from racing, and it can then be used to breed with other chocobos. Their offspring can inherit abilities from their parents, making it possible to create better race chocobos down the line.

Gates (Gold Saucer Active Time Events)
Similar to the random Full Active Time Events (FATEs) found in Eorzea, the Gold Saucer features Gold Saucer Active Time Events (GATEs)! These appear randomly in the Gold Saucer allowing players to join these quick and fun little games! For example, Typhon may appear on the field and lock you in place. If you’re unlucky you’ll be caught in his big sneeze move, and be blown out of the arena! Are you lucky enough to stay on the platform and win some MGP?

Mini-Games
Most of the mini-games are quick time events. These games will cost a small amount of MGP to play them. You will earn points back by skillfully playing these games. Players can earn Gold Saucer points from these mini-games but not as much as from Triple Triad or Chocobo Racing.

Participating in all of these different games will earn you MGP that will allow you to purchase some awesome prizes like new mounts, outfits, minions and more.
