Primals are powerful entities that roam the world of Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Fans of the series will recognize most of them as ‘summons’ in the older games. FFXIV Gil hunters face Primals in difficult Trials or dangerous FATEs, and defeating them will reward you with powerful weapons, unique armor, special mounts, and story / quest progression. Titan is one of these Primals, which you will encounter in the Navel Trial. Find out more in the article below.

Taking on the Navel Trail
The Navel is the second Trial FFXIV Gil hunters will encounter in the game. Most players will unlock this Trial as part of the main story quests. Like most Trials, the Navel requires a light party of 4 members, all well-equipped when they buy FFXIV Gil, and suitably stacked with recovery / utility items purchased with cheap FFXIV Gil. Note that the Navel is a Level 34 to 36 Trial, and that players above this requirement will be level sync’d down to 36 upon entry anyway. That being said, let’s continue on to the fight itself.

Battling Titan and Surviving
The indomitable will of the earth made manifest, beloved of the kobold clans. Compassionate and gentle, Titan is as a father to his tunnel-dwelling worshippers. But woe betide those fool enough to provoke this colossus—for when his anger is waked, the very earth trembles and heaves under the unstoppable fury of his mountainous bulk.

This will be a rather straightforward fight. Similar to most bosses, Titan has a frontal cone AoE attack and a stomp attack that damages the entire party periodically, but he will likely stick to his melee attacks on his primary target until 75%. Once he goes below that health bar, however, things get a little dicey. This primal will occasionally jump into the air and temporarily leave the battlefield, only to return a few seconds later, and will come crashing down in the center of the platform. This attack deals heavy damage depending on how far the raid members are from Titan. Additionally, characters on the edge of the platform will get knocked away and die. Luckily, this damage can be avoided by jumping at the correct time. After Titan’s leap, he will gain the ability to send out a large, linear shockwave that will knock players off the platform to their death. You can dodge this attack pretty easily, hence, it should always be avoided.

An Exposed Hard Heart
Once Titan drops to 50% of his health, his heart will become exposed, and Titan himself will no longer be attackable. The party needs to focus on this since it will make his Earthen Fury incredibly powerful, almost guaranteeing an entire wipe if not destroyed as quickly as possible. Upon the destruction of the heart, Titan will use his ability to entomb a random party member in a rock. He will also be able to make rocks fall on random party members. The party needs to make sure to avoid all the attacks and free entombed players to defeat this Primal boss and claim your hard-earned loot and Final Fantasy XIV Gil.
