In Final Fantasy XIV, role actions, in fact, are weapon skills and spells that are assigned to all the classes within a role (TANK, HEALER, DAMAGE DEALERS (DPS): (Magic Ranged DPS), (Melee DPS), (Physical Ranged DPS)) rather than a specific class. What's more, role actions are learned in the same manner as class actions, just via leveling, but only need to be learned once to be able to use all of them with all participating classes with one role.

  In other words, FF14 role actions are unlocked automatically at specific levels based on the role you are currently playing. And they even replaced Cross-Class skills in patch 4.0.

  Usually, you can find them in the Auction List under Character in the main menu. And then choosing it will show the role actions a player that has already learned. The number of role actions that also could be assigned to the current class, which from 1 to a maximum of 10, and of course, it is determined by the level of that class. In order to assign a role action to a class, you just need to check the box next to the action's name. Boxes even can not be unchecked if that action now is on cooldown. Right now, the role actions selected will appear at the very bottom of the Action List. The icons of those role actions also can be dragged and then dropped into the hotbars.
