There are several mounts available to FFXIV players for use. There is a wide variety of unique creatures of different species, skills, and some may even fly. On today’s article we will be talking about one of the most famous mounts among players (mostly because of how cute they look but don’t be fooled as they are very handy in adventures), Fat Chocobos. The Fat Chocobo has many names throughout the Final Fantasy franchise. It is also known by Big Chocobo, Chubby Chocobo and The Godsbird. Fat Chobocos are large and hefty chocobos that look like gigantic chicks. In the earlier installments of Final Fantasy, Fat Chobocos are able to help players carry items and loot. Aside from being a mount, it also appears when summoned in battles whose signature attack involves landing on the enemy party and crushing them for massive damage.

As Fat Chocobos appear in numerous games of the Final Fantasy franchise, it also evolves along with the game. In FFXIV, the Fat Chocobo appears as a mount for players. Players may control and ride them by food and treats, usually a garland of Gysahl Greens (but they love slices of cake too!), as bait on a stick to make them run towards a certain direction. It also appears as Triple Triad card which has a stat of 5 on every spot. There are popular Fat Choboco guilds and clubs in the game where players gather and ride around on Fat Chocobos for fun.

Fat Chocobos are a type of mount that may be acquired from A Realm Reborn Collector’s Edition Bonuses (on PlayStation 4). Players with other Collector’s Editions will automatically get this mount. However, after the release of Heavensward, players may now be able to fly with a Fat Chocobo after completing the I Believe I Can Fly quest in Foundation.
