What is Artifact Armor in Final Fantasy 14?

Artifact armor in Final Fantasy 14 is usually an armor item that visually reflects how a Job would classically look in a JRPG. The artifact items for every job at an iLevel 560 are the best possible currently in the game, except the Moonward Armor (iLevel 570).

How to Unlock Artifact Armor in Endwalker?

1). To unlock and use the Endwalker Artifact Armor, players have to be level 89 with a Job level of 89 for at least one job. This is one level below Endwalker's level cap of 90.

2). Next, complete the MSQ (Main Scenario Quest) called "A Bold Decision," which is given to players by Tataru. This is immediately after the events in your second trip to Labyrinthos and right before unlocking the final zone.

3). Upon completing this quest, you can go back to Old Sharlayan and speak with Varsarudh (X:11, Y:9) to purchase your Artifact gear.

4). You will be able to obtain a full set of left-side gear (Hat, Body, Hands, Legs, and Feet) and a Weapon. All of these items will be item level 560.

5). When you buy your Artifact gear, they'll all be synced to level 89, and their full item level will only be unlocked when you hit level 90. You do not need to do anything extra to receive this bonus — it applies automatically at 90.

How to Complete the 'Simply to Dye For' Quest?

1). Head to Western Thanalan and find the NPC named Swyrgeim at coordinates (X:12.6) (Y:14.3).

2). This lady wants some orange juice, which you can purchase from the merchant behind her.

3). Fill her up with it, and you've officially unlocked dyeing.

4). Go to Mor Dhona and locate Alys at coordinates (X:21.0) (Y:8.0).

5). Alys wants you to chat with a tempestuous fellow named Eginolf, who can be found at Rowena's House of Splendors.

6). Doing so completes the 'Simply to Dye For' quest, a prerequisite for dyeing artifact armor in FF14.

How to Dye Job Artifact Armor?

If you want to dye your gear, you'll need to complete your role quests. Radz-at-Han serves as Endwalker's central hub for all things role quest.

You must first complete your Role Quests for Endwalker in Radz-at-Han, one of the new locations you can unlock during Endwalker's story. There are five role questlines:

    • Tank: Warrior, Paladin, Dark Knight, Gunbreaker
    • Melee DPS: Dragoon, Ninja, Samurai, Monk, Reaper
    • Physical Ranged DPS: Bard, Machinist, Dancer
    • Magical Ranged DPS: Black Mage, Summoner, Red Mage
    • Healer: White Mage, Scholar, Astrologian, Sage

Role quests will vary depending on the Job you have at that moment; after these are done, dyeing will be unlocked with the vendor.
