Patch 2.3: Defenders of Eorzea added a great deal of new content to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Included are new dungeons, new hard mode dungeons, new raid wings, new game features, a new PvP feature and plenty more. Here’s a brief rundown of all major new content:

New Dungeon:One new level 50 dungeon has been added to the game– Hullbreaker Isle. Players must obtain a quest before entering which is received in Mor Dhona. The dungeon’s difficulty is on par with other level 50 dungeons.

New Hard Mode Dungeons:Two new level 50 hard mode dungeons have been added: The Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard) and The Stone Vigil (Hard). The difficulty of both of these dungeons is on par with other level 50 hard modes as are the rewards. Both feature new fights, new mechanics and new rewards.

New Raid Wings/Large Group Endgame Encounters:The long-awaited Ramuh hard mode and extreme mode fights (known as The Striking Tree inside the Duty Finder) have been added for level 50 players. The hard mode variant requires players to have an average item level of 65 or above while the extreme mode requires an average item level of 85 or above.

The new wing of Crystal Tower has also been added. It’s called Syrcus Tower. There are four new bosses in this wing. For the first time, this wing only requires 1 tank, 2 healers and 5 DPS players. Finally, the Second Coil of Bahamut (Savage) has been added. This is a more difficult version of the original raid that grants a unique title and achievement (no new rewards).

New PvP Map: Frontline:Frontline is a new largescale PvP challenge that consists of 74 players total– made up of three teams of 24 players each. Players compete for outposts and other key locations.

Treasure Hunts:A new Treasure Hunt feature has been added. When discovering treasure maps, the chests obtained may randomly contain unhidden maps that reveal the location of new treasure chests that contain rare and valuable rewards. These are recommended for level 50 players.

Hunts:
Players can complete bounties to defeat dangerous monsters that realm the world. A bounty board for hunts can be found at each of the Grand Company headquarters. There are multiple types of bounty bills based on the difficulty of the monster.

Private Housing Chambers:Players can now purchase a private chamber inside their housing estate. Players must be level 50. All chambers are the same size and cost 300,000gil. Players can change the name of the room, the entry greeting and allow other players to enter their chamber. The interior walls, flooring and ceiling light can be customized. Furnishings can also be added.
